READERS

They're all so different.

An excellent reason to be thankful for the gift of homeschool.

"Let the wise hear and increase in learning."
Proverbs 1:5

DRONE TEST

One of the cool things about homeschooling is the ability to focus on specific areas of interest as the kids get older and explore God's will for their futures. For Brodie, one of those interests has become drone flying and video production. It's been really neat to see him make the time and have the time to be dedicated to studying for his commercial drone pilot's test and today was the big day!

He passed!

Dad too!

I'm thankful to the Lord that their hard work and studying paid off and they both received their FAA remote pilot's licenses. We will see how God leads Brodie to utilize his talents and skill set using his drone and creativity moving forward. But for now, it's been extremely rewarding just to see him be so diligent and gain the reward for a job well done!

Congratulations guys! You earned it!!

"The work of a man's hand comes back to him."

SOME HOMESCHOOL DAYS...

We do other things...

'Cause that's just what's needed...

Some days.

"But he gives more grace."

CACAO + PERU WITH MRS. REYES

We always love it when Mrs. Reyes comes over.

Yesterday, as we had studied Peru in our World Geography, she added to the lesson with her expertise and then...

She taught us all about chocolate and how it's made from the Theobroma Cacao tree.

True to form, her lessons were complete with something messy-ish.

And delicious...as we harvested cacao beans and then made homemade chocolate!

We finished with chocolate fondue (cuz...Mrs. Reyes) and it was a super fun homeschool day!

"And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food."
Genesis 2:9

DAY IN THE LIFE

I'm pulling out of the morning sickness fog and getting back to day in the life school type stuff.

And it feels good to be inching back to normal again.

"Train up a child in the way he should go."

US GEOGRAPHY

Puzzles and cross country road trip memories...

Have a way of making US Geography tangible and fun!

(Cross country landscapes from TN - CA, October 2018)

I'm so thankful for the many experiences we've had this past year that have made our US Geography studies come to life!

And...there's no place like home.

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1

YOSEMITE!

I love it when our real life experiences and interests can be the content for our schooling.

Today it was...

YOSEMITE!

Everyone loves God's amazing creation in Yosemite and our special memories there...and that makes writing fun!

"All things were created through him and for him."
Colossians 1:16

US GOVERNMENT - PROJECT

I like looking for ways to integrate each individual's interests into our schooling.

Brodie loves creating...so this distressed document was perfect for him as he works his way through US Government this year.

It feels like yesterday when I was in school doing the exact same project...and I love the way it turned out!

"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities.
For there is no authority except from God,
and those that exist have been instituted by God."
Romans 13:1

MUSIC LESSONS

...and so it begins.

He instigated all on his own. Good brother.

Such a sweet blessing of homeschool.

"I will sing a new song to you, O God...I will play to you."
Psalm 144:9

READING BUDDIES

It's one of the sweetest blessings of homeschool...

Watching older siblings help their younger siblings.

And with so many ages and stages...

I can't help but be thankful...

For our quiet time with reading buddies.

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another."
